Senior Java Software Developer

Software Engineer • On-site • Full-time Austria Leoben, Austria

KNAPP's Systemintegration team in Leoben is looking for an experienced software developer to design, develop and integrate new software for logistics value chain solutions, and to actively help shape the technical architecture of the product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and integrating new software solutions for value chain logistics solutions
  • Actively contributing to shaping and evolving the technical architecture of the product portfolio
  • Analyzing complex requirements, creating technical concepts and implementing them efficiently in a team
  • Conducting code reviews, ensuring software quality and mentoring junior developers
  • Directing external developers implementing designs to specification
  • Integrating third-party APIs and systems, optimizing existing software solutions
  • Working closely with interdisciplinary teams (technical product management, DevOps, QA, etc.)
  • Supporting error analysis, reproduction and resolution for existing software solutions

Requirements

  • Completed university studies in computer science or software development (MSc/engineering degree) or comparable qualification
  • More than 5 years of experience in object-oriented software development
  • Very good knowledge of modern frameworks, e.g. in the Java environment (Spring, Hibernate, Jakarta EE, etc.) and common development tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins)
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle) and RESTful APIs
  • Analytical thinking, initiative, strong communication and teamwork
  • Confident German and English language skills

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or modern technologies (e.g. C#, Python, TypeScript, cloud, microservices)
