Linux System Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Operate, administer and further develop complex Linux infrastructures
• ▹Ensure stable system operation, including incident and lifecycle management and root-cause analysis
• ▹Plan and optimize the system landscape with a focus on performance, security and high availability
• ▹Support and ensure availability of network environments, plus database (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and web server systems (Apache, NGINX, PHP)
• ▹Operate and further develop the central SUSE Manager platform and Samba environments
• ▹Create and maintain technical documentation
• ▹Participate in on-call duty

Requirements

• ▹Several years of experience operating, planning and developing Linux-based IT infrastructures
• ▹Solid knowledge of enterprise Linux distributions (SUSE Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu)
• ▹Deep understanding of Linux systems, networks and IT security concepts
• ▹Experience with highly available systems and failover measures
• ▹Analytical thinking, high initiative, structured work style
