About the company

Headway's mission is to fix mental healthcare access by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access, starting by automating the biggest barrier to care: insurance admin work such as credentialing, claims and payment reconciliation. Over 75,000 providers across all 50 US states run their practice on Headway's software, serving more than 1 million patients. Headway is a Series D company with more than $325 million in funding from investors including a16z, Accel and Spark Capital. Its engineering team is described as small but mighty, guided by principles of focusing on the mission, shipping small and learning fast, treating everything as a product with end users in mind, and optimizing for trust so engineers feel safe asking questions and discussing mistakes. The team's stack includes Python 3 and TypeScript; FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React and Remix; LaunchDarkly, Statsig, dbt and Snowflake for experimentation and analytics; Postgres and Redis as datastores; AWS (Fargate, ECS, S3 and more), Cloudflare, Spark and Kafka for infrastructure; Datadog, PagerDuty and Sentry for monitoring; and GitHub for version control.
