Staff Software Engineer (Journeys)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and own Headway's communications architecture at scale
• ▹Design and evolve the decision engine
• ▹Build out the experimentation layer
• ▹Design channel orchestration across email, SMS, and other channels
• ▹Build an agentic communications engine that gets smarter with every send
• ▹Own the full stack from the delivery layer (Knock, Iterable) to the decision engine

Requirements

• ▹Staff-level, senior IC experience in software engineering
• ▹Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
• ▹Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React, Remix, Next.js
• ▹Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
• ▹Experience with AWS infrastructure (Fargate, ECS, S3)
• ▹Experience with Spark and Kafka
