Responsibilities

• ▹Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team
• ▹Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
• ▹Support the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics
• ▹Proactively identify and lead in solving project, process, technology, or business issues
• ▹Own team operations and availability: monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing, and alerting
• ▹Set and advocate for code review and design standards through writing and tech talks
• ▹Develop team talent through feedback and leading by example
• ▹Participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

• ▹4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin
• ▹Track record developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• ▹Experience defining a technical plan for a significant feature or system component with an elegant, extensible design
• ▹Writes high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others
• ▹Proficient at making significant, safe changes in a large codebase
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team
• ▹Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
