Senior SAP ABAP Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, develop and maintain scalable and secure backend components for lending solutions built on ABAP and further SAP technologies
• ▹Build high-quality standard software in an agile environment, working with internal stakeholders, customers and partners
• ▹Partner closely with front-end developers, designers and product owners to deliver end-to-end solutions
• ▹Debug, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• ▹Ensure engineering excellence through structured testing (unit, integration, UAT support), clean code principles and continuous improvement
• ▹Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• ▹Stay up to date with innovations in S/4HANA, RAP and SAP BTP
• ▹Share experience with junior colleagues and take part in their development

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
• ▹7+ years of experience in ABAP object-oriented development
• ▹Proficiency in OData, Core Data Services (CDS) and ABAP RESTful Application Programming (RAP) is mandatory
• ▹Practical experience with SAP BTP (services, deployment approach, integration concepts)
• ▹Familiarity with modern SAP development tools such as Business Application Studio (BAS), Eclipse and Visual Studio preferred
• ▹Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break down technical complexity
• ▹Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• ▹Fluency in English

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with banking products and processes (e.g. retail lending, regulatory reporting)
• ▹Full-stack experience with SAP UI5 and Fiori for modern, responsive user interfaces
• ▹Some experience with SAP HANA DB
• ▹Exposure to event-driven architecture and integration patterns on SAP BTP
• ▹Experience in agile environments (Scrum / SAFe) and in international teams
• ▹Experience in the financial sector
