Senior Software Engineer, Quality Engineering

Responsibilities

• ▹Design and build automated test frameworks across REST and gRPC API surfaces
• ▹Leverage AI and LLM-based tooling to accelerate test generation, harden regression coverage and turn production incidents into automated tests
• ▹Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build)
• ▹Design and execute load, stress and scalability tests
• ▹Introduce chaos engineering practices: fault-injection and resilience experiments
• ▹Standardize tooling and infrastructure to improve the developer experience
• ▹Partner with other teams to raise test coverage, reliability and speed
• ▹Dig into application code to root-cause failures and drive fixes to completion
• ▹Mentor and guide product engineers, fostering a culture of quality

Requirements

• ▹5+ years of experience as a software engineer building and maintaining production systems
• ▹Experience in strongly typed languages and at least 1 year of Go
• ▹Fluency with AI-assisted engineering: active use of LLM-based tools and a clear view on where they elevate quality
• ▹Experience building and maintaining CI pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions or Google Cloud Build
• ▹Experience designing automated test frameworks and understanding the challenges microservices pose for integration and end-to-end testing
• ▹Kubernetes knowledge beyond the basics: writing a Helm chart for a new service, security best practices, with job experience or certifications to show for it
• ▹Start-up experience and comfort with technical debt and missing processes
• ▹Ability to take a task from requirements through deployment and monitoring

Nice to have

• ▹Used AI/LLM tooling to build QA automation (test generation, flaky-test triage, incident-to-regression pipelines)
• ▹Python or TypeScript, efficient Dockerfiles and secure container images
• ▹Load tests with k6 (REST) and ghz (gRPC), analysis of pprof/trace output
• ▹IaC deployments with Argo CD or Terraform, Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine
• ▹Familiarity with Tilt, having written a Kubernetes Operator
• ▹Chaos engineering with tools like Chaos Mesh, LitmusChaos or Gremlin
• ▹Testing event-driven systems using Kafka (or better, Redpanda)
