Senior Software Engineer – Clearing

Responsibilities

• ▹Own projects from ideation to deployment, cutting through ambiguity to build what is necessary, not just what is asked for
• ▹Design and build new systems that enable new products or unlock more revenue
• ▹Refine existing systems wherever the outcome is meaningful and tangible
• ▹Participate in the on-call rotation to keep systems in shape
• ▹Cooperate with other teams, see behind the curtains of building a company and influence what the company does and how
• ▹Work on clearing, securities finance functions and the infrastructure for new offerings such as Fully Paid Securities Lending

Requirements

• ▹You can take the lead on a project (and have done so): you are told what needs fixing or building and handle the rest

• ▹You know when you don't know something and seek out the information instead of guessing or having an LLM do the thinking
• ▹You don't cling to your ideas when new information surfaces
• ▹You want to see the long-term impact of your decisions as systems scale and evolve
• ▹Startup experience and an understanding that priorities can shift with market needs
• ▹Willingness to push back in a civilized and productive way, and to accept when the decision differs from your view
• ▹Attention to detail
• ▹Good foundational knowledge of how computers, the internet, databases and distributed systems work
• ▹Productive with Go, PostgreSQL and Kubernetes
• ▹5+ years of hands-on experience building reliable and distributed systems
• ▹Ability to design good (RESTful) APIs and spot bad ones

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in the domain of securities clearing and settlement and securities finance
• ▹Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, Temporal, Grafana, Kafka/Redpanda, Helm and Docker
