Responsibilities

• ▹Development mainly in Python, in a Linux environment
• ▹Develop systems that integrate data from multiple sources via API, FTP and other communication interfaces
• ▹Mostly backend development, with some frontend work
• ▹Work closely with users and the business to understand needs and translate them into sustainable technical solutions
• ▹Share full team responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the systems

Requirements

• ▹At least 5 years of professional experience as an experienced system developer
• ▹Experience deploying and maintaining systems in a Linux environment
• ▹Post-secondary education in system development, computer science, or an equivalent recognized field
• ▹At least 2 years of experience programming in Python and with relational databases
• ▹At least 3 years of backend development experience
• ▹Work experience with APIs
• ▹Work experience in agile teams

Nice to have

• ▹Development of stable, complex systems with high uptime requirements
• ▹Handling large volumes of data and various data formats
• ▹Handling oceanographic data
• ▹Working with various measurement platforms
• ▹The Django framework and object-oriented programming
• ▹Networks and infrastructure, and system architecture
• ▹Additional programming languages
• ▹Ability to translate requirements from non-technical stakeholders into a technical solution
