Mainframe Application Architecture

Responsibilities

• ▹Design cutting-edge software frameworks, systems and products
• ▹Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, and identify and resolve framework design weaknesses
• ▹Provide technical leadership to the application development team and perform design and code reviews
• ▹Ensure uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained
• ▹Collaborate with stakeholders to make sure the architecture is aligned with business requirements
• ▹Design major aspects of an application's architecture, including user interface, middleware and infrastructure
• ▹Create and maintain documentation on the software architecture, application design processes, component integration and testing guidelines

Requirements

• ▹Architectural experience of large customer change and transformation projects
• ▹In-depth knowledge and experience of hardware and software, including connectivity between platforms
• ▹Working knowledge of CA Broadcom products or IBM iSeries (AS/400), including system operations, application support and modernization initiatives

Nice to have

• ▹The Open Group - Master Certified Architect (or equivalent)
• ▹Prior hands-on experience working in a mainframe environment
• ▹Experience in mainframe projects of the types Modernise On, Integrate With and Move Off
• ▹Strong understanding of z/OS and IBM software products as well as third-party mainframe software
• ▹Experience and familiarity with applying AI to accelerate application transformation
