Lead Software Engineer - N4F - (REF5331H)

Backend Developer • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Budapest

A Lead Software Engineer role building and modernizing Deutsche Telekom's network management and provisioning ecosystem using Java-based microservices, supporting large-scale telco areas such as 5G rollout, FTTH/FTTC broadband provisioning, and IP Transit services.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing Java-based backend microservices
  • Building scalable distributed systems
  • REST and event-driven communication
  • Network provisioning and orchestration workflows
  • PostgreSQL modeling and optimization
  • CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments
  • Kubernetes / Docker infrastructure
  • Integration of complex business and network management systems
  • Technical mentoring and architecture reviews
  • Helping modernize legacy telco platforms into modern distributed architectures

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Java development and microservice architectures
  • Expertise in RESTful API design and event-driven communication (Stargate, Horizon)
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL (data modeling, queries, optimization)
  • Ability to design and review software architecture for distributed systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Willingness and capability to integrate AI solutions for process optimization and workflow improvement

Soft skills

Strong analytical and conceptual skills for system designLeadership qualities and experience in guiding development teams
