As an application production engineer at the Sophia Antipolis service centre you run high-volume, high-availability production applications for a major client in a Linux environment, resolve incidents and automate recurring tasks.
Responsibilities
- ▹Maintain production applications and platforms in operational condition
- ▹Take part in application deployments and support go-lives
- ▹Handle and resolve level 2 and 3 incidents and service requests
- ▹Analyse malfunctions and carry out the investigations needed to resolve them
- ▹Take part in crisis cells, post-incident reviews and the resulting action plans
- ▹Monitor and analyse batch processing
- ▹Help administer and maintain servers and application components
- ▹Take part in change management and in securing production releases
- ▹Contribute to industrialising and automating recurring tasks, notably through scripting
- ▹Contribute to continuous improvement of operating processes and to making production environments more reliable
- ▹Write and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures and runbooks
- ▹Collaborate with the team's other experts and with project teams on application and technical changes
- ▹Help define and improve production standards
Requirements
- ▹Bac+5 degree (engineering school or equivalent)
- ▹At least 5 years of experience in production engineering or application production, ideally in complex, high-availability environments
- ▹Very good command of Linux environments
- ▹Good understanding of application architectures and their components
- ▹Experience analysing, diagnosing and resolving complex incidents
- ▹Shell / Bash scripting skills
- ▹SQL knowledge, notably for reading and analysing queries
- ▹Experience with supervision and monitoring tools
- ▹Command of ticketing and incident tracking tools
- ▹Good understanding of ITIL processes and best practices
Nice to have
- ▹Knowledge or experience of Python, Ansible, Git / GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus
