IT Infrastructure Manager (Direct Placement)

A Dresden-based high-tech company specializing in semiconductor and mask technology is looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead a 7-8 person IT operations team in a highly available 24/7 production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the IT operations team (approx. 7-8 people) in a hybrid role combining disciplinary leadership and active hands-on work
  • Full responsibility for the stable operation and further development of the IT infrastructure in a highly available 24/7 production environment
  • Ensure availability, performance and security of core IT systems including network, servers (Linux/Windows), storage, monitoring and central services
  • Actively steer IT operations and infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, in close coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Modernize and optimize a grown IT landscape, including automation, standardization and retirement of legacy systems
  • Support DevOps approaches and digitalization initiatives, e.g. via CI/CD, automation and modern platform/cloud technologies
  • Work closely with production, engineering and international IT colleagues, and coordinate with external service providers and SLAs
  • Contribute to the strategic development of IT together with IT leadership, including evaluating new technologies (e.g. AI), and take part in a rotating on-call duty

Requirements

  • Degree with an IT focus and solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, Linux, Windows, networking, cybersecurity, DevOps, containers and cloud services (M365)
  • At least five years of professional experience, ideally in the semiconductor industry, operating critical IT systems in 24/7 production environments
  • Leadership experience and the ability to lead teams professionally and develop staff
  • A technical sparring partner for administrators, developers and technicians, not purely management-focused
  • Realizing automation and DevOps potential together with the team
  • Structured way of working, project-management competence and strategic thinking for IT modernization under budget constraints
  • Very good German and English for working with international teams and customers
  • High sense of responsibility, willingness to take on-call duty and make fast decisions during incidents
