Database Support Engineer, EMEA

Responsibilities

• ▹Work with customers from basic TimescaleDB administration to deep design, optimization and implementation consulting
• ▹Manage support cases from beginning to end
• ▹Develop and maintain close customer relationships
• ▹Continuously improve products, processes and culture

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience
• ▹Relational database experience at scale: administration, data modeling, query optimization
• ▹Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL a strong plus)
• ▹Experience as a technical support professional with external customers
• ▹Strong aptitude to understand and learn new software products
• ▹Strong communication skills, patience and empathy explaining complex technical concepts

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with TimescaleDB
• ▹Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• ▹Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling tools
• ▹Familiarity with PostgreSQL best practices, query plan analysis, backup/restore, migrations
• ▹Strong curiosity and willingness to learn
