Lead Machine Learning Engineer

As Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Faculty, you'll set the technical direction for complex AI/ML projects, leading the delivery of large-scale, production platforms in high-risk environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable ML systems, justifying key architectural decisions
  • Drive development of shared libraries and infrastructure for model deployment, lifecycle management, and CI/CD
  • Lead model integration with infrastructure by creating APIs and services
  • Oversee delivery of multiple complex workstreams in high-risk environments
  • Ensure reliable model performance by defining testing frameworks and model versioning systems
  • Manage and coach multiple engineers, setting team-wide development goals
  • Execute proactive recommendations for adopting new technologies and AI frameworks

Requirements

  • Expert at defining technical roadmaps and managing project priorities in high-growth environments
  • Mastery of cloud-native ecosystems and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Proven ability to design large-scale AI-powered platforms and justify critical architectural decisions
  • Expert-level experience operationalising models within TensorFlow or PyTorch
  • Defines engineering standards and architecture patterns for agentic systems
  • Exceptional ability to align multi-disciplinary technical teams with business objectives
  • The role may require eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) and occasional on-site work with clients
