Responsibilities

• ▹Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale
• ▹Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle, ensuring technical sustainability and risks are managed
• ▹Act as a force multiplier through the definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes
• ▹Own the team's operations and availability: monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing, and alerting
• ▹Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards
• ▹Develop talent on the team through feedback, guidance, and mentoring

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of total experience as a software engineer
• ▹Proficient in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale: Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes
• ▹Proficient in developing web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React, React Native, or Vue
• ▹Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through a technical and execution plan
• ▹Writes high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others
• ▹Thrives in ambiguity, comfortable from low-level language idioms to large system architecture
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with a global engineering team
