Enterprise Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Advise and handle enterprise customer support requests on the PlanetScale platform
• ▹Become a customer-facing subject-matter expert
• ▹Identify product gaps and escalate them with the right teams
• ▹Participate in on-call rotation for high priority issues

Requirements

• ▹Experience supporting production databases and applications, preferably at scale
• ▹Experience with database internals and performance tuning for PostgreSQL and MySQL
• ▹Working knowledge of Kubernetes
• ▹Strong ability to communicate with customers via email, Slack, video, or in person

Nice to have

• ▹Knowledge of application deployment platforms/frameworks (Python, Go, Node, PHP)
• ▹Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• ▹Knowledge of monitoring, observability and debugging tools
• ▹Open-source contributions, especially in database or infrastructure space
