Product Manager - Cloud

Backend Developer • Lead • On-site • Full-time • 📍 Home based - EMEA

Canonical is hiring a Product Manager for one of its cloud native operations product areas. This role is responsible for the commercial strategy and marketing leadership of products including Juju, the open source orchestration engine for software operators, along with identity management and observability. Juju enables the deployment, integration and lifecycle management of applications at any scale, on any infrastructure using charms. The role is remote within the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lifecycle of product development by reviewing priorities and goals
  • Work closely with engineering leads to oversee the product development process
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on priorities and keep execution on track
  • Conduct market research, analyse industry trends and gather customer feedback
  • Develop the team through coaching, mentoring and training
  • Establish KPIs for project status reporting and communicate them across Canonical
  • Drive execution excellence through continuous feedback and improvement
  • Contribute to the sales team's success by reviewing customer feedback and joining customer meetings

Requirements

  • Seasoned product management experience in technical domains related to open source software in the cloud native landscape
  • Experience designing or managing software operations for large-scale distributed systems
  • Good understanding of cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker containers
  • Comprehensive knowledge of common enterprise security and compliance requirements in software operations
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive execution to excellence
  • Passion to write about technologies and experience in developer marketing
  • A strong work ethic and personal interests aligned with the open source philosophy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
