Data Business Analyst

Business / System Analyst • Senior • Remote • Full-time Poland Poland

This role is with a data-driven media organization seeking a Data Business Analyst to bridge business needs with the capabilities of the data and analytics teams. The position works closely with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists on analytical and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze and document business requirements related to data, reporting and analytics initiatives
  • Translate stakeholder needs into user stories, functional requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Support the Product Owner in backlog management, prioritization and feature clarification
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders on data requirements, KPI definitions and reporting needs
  • Analyze source systems, data flows and reporting processes to identify business and data requirements
  • Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement clarification meetings
  • Contribute to functional specifications, process flows, data mapping and solution documentation

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Data, BI, Analytics or Data Warehouse projects
  • Strong ability to gather, analyze and document business requirements
  • Experience working with Product Owners, Developers, Data Engineers, BI teams and business stakeholders
  • Experience analyzing database structures and understanding data relationships
  • Knowledge of database objects such as tables, views, procedures and functions
  • Understanding of data architectures, including OLTP, OLAP, Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts
  • Practical knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
  • Experience working with Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Knowledge of UML and BPMN

Nice to have

  • Experience using modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, draw.io or similar
  • Experience working with Snowflake
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
  • Experience defining KPIs, metrics and reporting solutions
  • Previous experience as a Product Owner or Proxy Product Owner
  • Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework
  • Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
