This role is with a data-driven media organization seeking a Data Business Analyst to bridge business needs with the capabilities of the data and analytics teams. The position works closely with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists on analytical and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

▹Capture, analyze and document business requirements related to data, reporting and analytics initiatives
▹Translate stakeholder needs into user stories, functional requirements and acceptance criteria
▹Support the Product Owner in backlog management, prioritization and feature clarification
▹Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders on data requirements, KPI definitions and reporting needs
▹Analyze source systems, data flows and reporting processes to identify business and data requirements
▹Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement clarification meetings
▹Contribute to functional specifications, process flows, data mapping and solution documentation

Requirements

▹4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Data, BI, Analytics or Data Warehouse projects
▹Strong ability to gather, analyze and document business requirements
▹Experience working with Product Owners, Developers, Data Engineers, BI teams and business stakeholders
▹Experience analyzing database structures and understanding data relationships
▹Knowledge of database objects such as tables, views, procedures and functions
▹Understanding of data architectures, including OLTP, OLAP, Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts
▹Practical knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
▹Experience working with Power BI reports and dashboards
▹Knowledge of UML and BPMN

Nice to have

▹Experience using modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, draw.io or similar
▹Experience working with Snowflake
▹Understanding of dimensional modeling concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
▹Experience defining KPIs, metrics and reporting solutions
▹Previous experience as a Product Owner or Proxy Product Owner
▹Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Scrum framework
▹Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
