Responsibilities

• ▹Lead engineer for architecture across cards and relationships with EU counterparts, setting technical strategy on a year-long scale
• ▹Work across just-in-time transaction processing and post-transaction ledgering/reconciliation systems
• ▹Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle with product management, design, and analytics
• ▹Act as a force-multiplier through definition and advocacy of technical solutions and operational processes
• ▹Own the team's operations and availability: monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing, alerting
• ▹Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review and design standards
• ▹Develop talent on the team through feedback and guidance
• ▹Participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

• ▹8+ years of total experience as a software engineer
• ▹Proficient in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale with Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• ▹Proficient in developing front end applications
• ▹Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through a technical execution plan
• ▹Writes high quality code that is easily understood and used by others
• ▹Thrives in ambiguity, comfortable from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with a global engineering team
