Senior Privacy Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead complex projects across key company-wide objectives and maintain privacy technology
• ▹Protect user privacy using Go, Node.js, Python, and sometimes Perl to write pragmatic, performant, testable code
• ▹Design systems for improving search indexes and AI features without compromising user privacy
• ▹Build new features on top of the Tracker Radar crawler to detect emerging privacy threats
• ▹Implement and maintain privacy features such as Web Tracking and Email Protections
• ▹Participate in privacy review and audit processes
• ▹Mentor other engineers over time

Requirements

• ▹Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact, complex projects from proposal through post-mortem
• ▹Skills to wrangle vague problems and propose and execute innovative solutions
• ▹Experience working on privacy solutions in an engineering capacity (e.g. tracker blocker, differential privacy, or similar technology)
• ▹Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and the existing solution space
• ▹Proficiency in at least one of: Go, Node.js, Python, Perl
• ▹Excellent communication skills, able to explain decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
