Responsibilities

• ▹Develop data scientists, set clear expectations, provide hands-on mentorship, remove blockers
• ▹Guide and advise multiple data science projects to keep them on track with timely, high-impact delivery
• ▹Oversee statistical modeling, experiment design, and classifier implementation across search, instant answers, AI, and revenue optimization
• ▹Collaborate cross-functionally to validate direction through data
• ▹Become an expert in core metrics like searches, installs, and revenue
• ▹Drive improvement of the data pipeline

Requirements

• ▹10+ years of experience in data science or ML engineering, with 4+ years leading teams
• ▹Track record of setting multi-team roadmaps and adapting swiftly as priorities shift
• ▹Experience driving organizational culture toward data-driven decision-making
• ▹Ability to translate technical tradeoffs and risks clearly for executives and cross-functional stakeholders
• ▹Experience coaching experienced data scientists with direct, actionable feedback
• ▹Expert-level ability to deploy and iterate ML and NLP solutions in production
• ▹Advanced SQL and query optimization skills, familiarity with columnar databases like BigQuery, Clickhouse, Redshift, or Druid
• ▹Strong LLM/AI experience including fine-tuning and LLM-as-judge evaluation
• ▹Production-grade code in Python or a comparable high-level language

Nice to have

• ▹Experience at a consumer-facing tech company where data or analytics is core to the product strategy
