Senior Expert - Energy Grid Solver & Calculations (all genders)

Responsibilities

• ▹Develop state-of-the-art electrical engineering applications within a cross-functional team (backend, frontend, DevOps developers, design, product manager) to deliver customer value
• ▹Concept, extend, and implement electrical engineering workflows and mathematical solvers according to state-of-the-art and best practices
• ▹Concept and develop professional backend solutions for continuous product development in an agile environment with other cross-functional teams

Requirements

• ▹Electrical engineering background, solid knowledge of distribution grid component structure and modeling (conductor modeling including couplings, detailed transformer modeling, grounding concepts)
• ▹Solid knowledge and experience implementing grid calculation methods (various symmetric and multi-phase power flow procedures, short-circuit/fault calculations)
• ▹5+ years of hands-on programming experience in the context of electrical engineering and mathematical algorithms (Python, ideally also C++, Go, or Rust), software design and architecture principles in large software projects
• ▹Writes state-of-the-art software with enthusiasm and passion as a main part of daily work

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with asymmetric elements such as center-tapped/split-phase transformers and transformer banks
• ▹Knowledge of state estimation and general optimization problems
