A mid-level Animation Programmer role on Rebellion's Tech Team, using the studio's proprietary Asura engine to implement character animation and gameplay mechanics on a large-scale new project crafted by a seasoned team. Based in Oxford or Warwick, with a relocation package available.
Responsibilities
- ▹Develop and implement animation code for the in-house engine
- ▹Maintain and develop features within the animation systems, covering both content creation tools and runtime systems
- ▹Collaborate with content creators to write animation tools and features
- ▹Develop and implement animation code for the project(s), writing and testing larger classes with complex functionality
- ▹Fix complex bugs in both familiar and unfamiliar code
- ▹Create, review and update technical and user documentation
- ▹Support other team members or programmers from other disciplines where appropriate
Requirements
- ▹Strong understanding of the architecture and internal workings of real-time animation systems
- ▹High proficiency in C++, with experience developing and maintaining complex systems
- ▹Confident use of IDEs, debugging tools and profiling techniques to diagnose and resolve issues
- ▹Experience designing and implementing Finite State Machines and related animation control systems
- ▹Good working knowledge of 3D mathematics and geometry
