Senior Online Developer (JavaScript)

Responsibilities

• ▹Design, build and deploy web applications to support the in-house engine team
• ▹Maintain and improve existing tools
• ▹Develop integrations with third-party APIs
• ▹Support application deployments
• ▹Communicate with other teams
• ▹Produce performant and well-documented code
• ▹Successfully develop and deploy new tools to support the game teams
• ▹Respond to bugs and issues as they arise, providing speedy resolution

Requirements

• ▹Strong experience with NodeJS, JavaScript and TypeScript
• ▹Knowledge of front-end frameworks like Vue and React
• ▹Strong experience with databases such as MySQL and NoSQL databases
• ▹Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud environments
• ▹Strong experience with software development tools and version control systems
• ▹Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technologies

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Git/Perforce version control
• ▹Comfortable modifying/maintaining applications written in other languages such as PHP
• ▹Experience writing serverless functions (AWS Lambda/Azure Functions)

About the company

Rebellion has been independently developing and publishing video games for 30 years across multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. The role can be based at Rebellion's Oxford or Warwick studios, with a relocation package including moving assistance and temporary accommodation available.
