Junior Project Manager

Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is hiring a Junior Project Manager to help ensure the success of complex open-source projects for enterprise, cloud and edge customers, in a fully distributed, remote-first company.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Ensure programs and projects are delivered within schedule, scope, cost, budget and resource expectations
  • Support identification of key technical and project risks and issues, and put mitigating actions in place
  • Maintain strong customer focus and work with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Assist in conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers
  • Support delivery schedules of critical third-party deliverables for the project
  • Advocate appropriate technologies from Canonical's portfolio to customers

Requirements

  • Solid academic achievement in science, software engineering and/or information technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Solution-oriented mindset
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Confidence to speak up, exchange feedback and share ideas
  • Track record of going above and beyond to achieve outstanding results
  • Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects and initiatives
  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility and accountability
  • Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events, up to two weeks long
