Lead Backend & Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead the architecture, security and stability of the GCP platform for 100% year-over-year growth
• ▹Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 senior and mid-level backend engineers
• ▹Act as primary steward for technical cost-optimisation and resource management
• ▹Architect integrations with external partner APIs, handling diverse authentication mechanisms and data patterns
• ▹Partner with the CTO and Director of Engineering on technical strategy
• ▹Embed best-in-class engineering practices: IaC via Terraform, CI/CD, security audit readiness
• ▹Drive agentic AI workflows across the team

Requirements

• ▹Proven technical ownership of cloud platform architecture, security and stability (ideally GCP)
• ▹Experience managing and mentoring a backend engineering team (senior and mid-level)
• ▹Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD and security audit readiness
• ▹Experience architecting integrations with external partner APIs and diverse authentication mechanisms
• ▹Experience partnering with CTO/engineering leadership on technical strategy
