Systems Engineer (Full Remote)

Responsibilities

• ▹Install, support, and maintain server hardware and software infrastructure
• ▹Manage database systems (MariaDB, ClickHouse) and web servers (Nginx)
• ▹Monitor server and network usage
• ▹Ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources
• ▹Plan and implement future deployments
• ▹Provide some 24/7 availability for critical infrastructure situations
• ▹Contribute to team process improvement and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• ▹Extensive Linux experience (RedHat preferred)
• ▹Advanced knowledge of web servers with PHP
• ▹Experience with MariaDB administration
• ▹Configuration management knowledge (e.g. Puppet)
• ▹Experience with caching (Redis, Memcached, CouchBase)
• ▹Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum) and tools (Jira, Confluence)
• ▹BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

• ▹Cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS)
• ▹Scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl)

• ▹Networking (DNS configuration, VRRP)
• ▹Remote server installation (PXE, Kickstart)
