Senior Software Engineer, Firefox Security

Mozilla is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to advance Firefox's security architecture and cryptography stack using C/C++ and Rust.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to improvements in Firefox's core security systems, focusing on cryptographic protocols, WebPKI, and security-sensitive web APIs
  • Design and implement web platform security features in collaboration with teammates and the broader web community
  • Improve browser reliability, performance, and resource efficiency
  • Analyze and improve memory usage in a complex, multi-threaded browser environment
  • Collaborate on security initiatives, debugging, and root cause analysis
  • Participate in technical design, design reviews, and project planning

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering and security fundamentals, proficiency in C/C++, understanding of cryptographic protocols
  • Experience building and maintaining complex software in security-sensitive environments
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in multi-threaded, cross-platform native applications
  • Effective communication and collaboration with distributed teams
  • Growth mindset toward deepening expertise in browser security, cryptography, and systems programming
  • Familiarity with web technologies, interest or experience in Rust
