Principal Developer Advocate

1Password is hiring a Principal Developer Advocate to shape its developer advocacy strategy for the AI era and drive awareness and adoption of its developer tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build an advocacy strategy fit for the new context of generative AI and online developer communities
  • Foster and participate in direct, public conversations about AI security
  • Publish authoritative content
  • Prioritize high-impact channels that drive product awareness, adoption, and feedback at scale
  • Represent 1Password Developer Relations at major developer conferences (e.g. AWS re:Invent, KubeCon)
  • Leverage in-person interactions for longer-term impact

Requirements

  • 10+ years in technical roles (software or platform engineering, developer advocacy, solution engineering, or other fields)
  • Deep familiarity with modern development workflows and patterns
  • 5+ years engaging with developers in visible, public-facing roles, advocating for their needs cross-functionally
  • Experience navigating sensitive and complex community situations with humility, empathy, judgment, and tact
  • Experience collaborating with partners on technical and product marketing integrations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication across multiple formats (conference talks, blog posts, tutorials)
