Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• ▹Lead the development of core platform services
• ▹Design and build technology supporting the operations of a wide variety of US Government satellites
• ▹Work as both an individual contributor and a lead for more junior engineers
• ▹Develop and consume APIs and services as part of the platform ecosystem

Requirements

• ▹3-5+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience
• ▹Experience working on multi-tenant services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• ▹Extensive experience with Python, FastAPI, Postgres, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform
• ▹Experience architecting and building APIs and backend services
• ▹In-depth knowledge of at least one commercial cloud platform and its services
• ▹Development with an emphasis on automation and security
• ▹Willingness to own a technical problem end-to-end
• ▹Eligibility under US Government export regulations: US citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations
• ▹Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance

Nice to have

• ▹Prior experience working in space, satellite communications or building ground systems
