AI Engineering Manager: Marketing & Personalization AI

Responsibilities

• ▹Serve as technical owner for AI model design, architecture and integration across marketing and personalization use cases
• ▹Own the technical roadmap for personalization AI, recommendation and next-best-action engines, segmentation and propensity models, campaign and send-time optimization, and generative AI for content personalization
• ▹Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of AI/ML frameworks and tools
• ▹Take part in hands-on coding, prototyping and code reviews
• ▹Oversee the AI development lifecycle: model training, validation, deployment, A/B and uplift testing
• ▹Lead, mentor and give career support to a team of AI engineers
• ▹Work with the Director of AI Development, Product Managers, Designers, Data Scientists and other engineering leaders
• ▹Integrate AI capabilities into products with platform, infrastructure and DevOps teams
• ▹Ensure model governance, performance monitoring and data privacy compliance, including regional data residency requirements
• ▹Monitor engineering metrics and connect model performance to marketing outcomes

Requirements

• ▹Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• ▹8+ years of software development experience, at least 3 of them in AI/ML engineering
• ▹Demonstrated experience building and shipping marketing or personalization AI in production (recommendation systems, segmentation, churn/LTV modeling, real-time decisioning, campaign optimization)
• ▹Proven track record of leading, mentoring or managing engineering teams
• ▹Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch), advanced modeling techniques (NLP, LLMs, generative AI, recommendation and ranking systems) and production model deployments
• ▹Solid grounding in experimentation and measurement: A/B testing, uplift modeling
• ▹Proficiency in Python, cloud platforms (e.g. OCI, AWS, GCP), CI/CD and modern engineering practices
• ▹Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with MarTech ecosystems, customer data platforms (CDPs), campaign orchestration, marketing automation or CPaaS/omnichannel messaging platforms
• ▹Applying LLMs to marketing use cases, including fine-tuning and RAG, ideally in the Hugging Face ecosystem
• ▹Exposure to Rust for performance-critical AI services
• ▹Arabic NLP experience or familiarity with the MENA market
• ▹Experience scaling teams and systems in a high-growth SaaS environment
