Responsibilities

• ▹Build and operate the platform services run on — GKE clusters, controllers, and the Terraform that defines the cloud
• ▹Own the path from commit to production — CI/CD, GitOps, and progressive-delivery patterns
• ▹Strengthen the networking and routing layer — traffic management, firewalls, network policies
• ▹Govern access and guardrails — IAM across every layer, policy-as-code, break-glass paths
• ▹Grow reliability and observability — alert hygiene, runbooks, SLOs, metrics and tracing
• ▹Enable product teams and make production readiness the default

Requirements

• ▹Kubernetes fundamentals: controllers, core components, CNI and networking (GKE a plus)
• ▹Infrastructure as code and delivery: Terraform, Helm or Kustomize, CI/CD and GitOps (ArgoCD)
• ▹Networking and access: routing fundamentals, VPC, firewall and network-policy primitives, IAM
• ▹Operational depth: monitoring fundamentals, strong troubleshooting across distributed systems, solid Unix/Linux
• ▹Agentic development mindset — actively uses AI agents in daily work
• ▹Collaboration and judgement on large, cross-cutting projects

Nice to have

• ▹Familiarity with GCP and an observability stack (Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana)
• ▹Experience running containerised platforms at scale
• ▹Service mesh experience with Cilium eBPF, Linkerd, or Istio
• ▹Familiarity with platform building blocks like cert-manager, external-secrets, external-dns
