PL/I Developer – Output Management Systems

Software Engineer • On-site • Full-time Hungary Budapest, Hungary

We are seeking an experienced PL/I developer to develop and enhance Output Management System (OMS) modules, working closely with business stakeholders and communicating in German.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance existing PL/I modules for Output Management Systems (OMS)
  • Conduct code and business analysis to implement code refactoring and increase module resilience
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to discuss requirements and address bugs or issues
  • Participate in requirement engineering to ensure comprehensive understanding and documentation of business needs
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of output management solutions, ensuring scalability and efficiency

Requirements

  • Profound development experience in PL/I
  • Extensive experience with Output Management Systems, including architecture and design
  • Strong expertise in requirement engineering
  • Deep knowledge of IBM DB2, WebSphere MQ, and XML
  • Experience with the Allianz Business System (ABS)
  • Fluent German for effective communication with business stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to Munich for Tribe Days and other workshops

Nice to have

  • Java skills or experience in another object-oriented language (due to the planned PL/I to Java migration)
