Student Assistant – Data Engineering and Data Science

Responsibilities

• ▹Developing scripts (mainly in Python) to automate data processing and reporting workflows
• ▹Preparing and structuring heterogeneous, unstructured data sets and ensuring data quality
• ▹Detecting and merging duplicates (record linkage) using fuzzy matching methods, optionally ML-supported
• ▹Building, maintaining and querying databases (e.g. SQL, Baserow)
• ▹Contributing to configuring and maintaining the server and processing environment
• ▹Preparing results as visualizations and dashboards for scientific reporting

Requirements

• ▹Good Python skills, ideally with experience in data analysis libraries (pandas, NumPy)
• ▹Basic knowledge of databases and SQL
• ▹Very good German (C1) and good English (B2)
• ▹Reliable, careful and independent way of working

Nice to have

• ▹First experience with machine learning methods and/or natural language processing (NLP)
• ▹Interest in data cleaning and duplicate-detection methods
• ▹Experience with large data sets and a good feel for data analysis and visualization
• ▹Confident use of Git
• ▹Basic server configuration and administration skills (e.g. Linux, command line)
