This role plans, installs and operates LAN and WLAN infrastructures both for data center environments and for international customers. Responsibilities include implementing new site connections, coordinating network hardware relocations, and performing continuous, at times 24/7, troubleshooting across routing & switching, wireless, firewall and WAN domains.
Responsibilities
- ▹Planning, installing and operating LAN and WLAN infrastructures for data center environments and international customers
- ▹Implementing new site connections, coordinating network hardware relocations and carrying out infrastructure refreshes
- ▹Working across routing & switching, wireless, firewall and WAN domains, including 24/7 troubleshooting
- ▹Ensuring stable network operations and optimizing performance
- ▹Implementing network standards and enforcing security policies
- ▹Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as topologies, configurations, troubleshooting logs and network designs for different environments
- ▹Supporting business departments as a technical point of contact in 2nd/3rd level support
Requirements
- ▹Completed IT vocational training (e.g. IT systems integration specialist) or comparable degree
- ▹Several years of experience in LAN, WLAN and WAN
- ▹Knowledge of network security and security protocols
- ▹Knowledge of vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point, Aruba and Meraki
- ▹Experience with network management, monitoring or automation
- ▹Independent, structured and analytical way of working
- ▹Confident, fluent German and English
Nice to have
- ▹Cisco CCNA, CCNP or CWNP certification
- ▹Check Point Certified Security Admin certification
