Software Engineer, AI Agent Platform

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and ship features across the Champion platform repositories
• ▹Improve developer experience: tooling, scaffolding, internal documentation, onboarding for Applied AI engineers
• ▹Maintain and evolve the MCP tool server and agent infrastructure
• ▹Support business-unit Applied AI engineers in building, deploying and operating Champions
• ▹Review agent implementations for prompt quality, scope enforcement, auth configuration, and deployment setup
• ▹Design and build Champion agents for business-unit use cases, writing system prompts and tool bindings
• ▹Register agents in Champion Server and configure LaunchDarkly-gated prompt rollout

Requirements

• ▹Proficient in async Python, Pydantic, type hints, and FastAPI
• ▹Experience with the Strands agent SDK or a comparable agentic framework
• ▹Testing expertise: pytest, pytest-asyncio, DeepEval for agent-specific evaluation; TDD is the expectation
• ▹Prompt engineering: writing and iterating on XML-structured, scope-enforced system prompts
• ▹Solid understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP), hands-on experience building or consuming MCP servers
• ▹Familiarity with multi-agent architectures and orchestration patterns: supervisor/subagent delegation, parallel tool use, context management
• ▹Ability to design and run agent behavior evaluation suites
• ▹Docker: Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, local dev via docker-compose/make
• ▹PostgreSQL: templated INSERT/SELECT, foreign key relationships, reading ER diagrams
• ▹Git/semantic versioning: conventional commit format, PR-based trunk workflow

Nice to have

• ▹Kubernetes: Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, ServiceAccounts, basic kubectl troubleshooting
• ▹AWS: ECR, EKS, IAM, Bedrock inference layer
• ▹OAuth2/OIDC conceptual understanding: Authorization Code Flow with PKCE, token exchange
• ▹Beginner-level Terraform familiarity
• ▹LaunchDarkly experience managing feature flags or AI config overrides
• ▹Document intelligence/OCR experience (e.g. AWS Textract)
