SAP Security Architect (CORE Program)

As part of Bayer's global CORE transformation program, this role leads the design and implementation of SAP BTP security services, including integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP SaaS solutions, and owns SAP Cloud Identity Services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and customization of SAP BTP security services, including integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP SaaS solutions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security solutions that meet business and operational needs
  • Analyze security requirements, define strategies, and provide technical guidance for efficient and secure integrations
  • Develop and establish security strategies, standards, and guidelines
  • Own the service and system responsibility for SAP Cloud Identity Services
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize authentication and authorization processes to ensure system stability and reliability
  • Stay current on SAP BTP innovations and drive continuous improvement of security measures
  • Provide technical leadership, develop team members, and coordinate work with external IT service providers and SAP (RISE with SAP)

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Several years of experience in security frameworks with a focus on SAP BTP and integration with SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems, ideally in a regulated (GxP) environment
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP BTP security frameworks, SAP Cloud Identity Services, and SAP security best practices, including compliance requirements
  • Experience applying security principles such as least privilege, defense-in-depth, and segregation of duties
  • Hands-on experience with single sign-on (SSO), federated identity management, and identity providers (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID, SAP Customer Data Cloud)
  • Solid experience designing and implementing role-based access concepts in distributed SAP environments, and familiarity with standards such as OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) and experience with DevOps and agile methods
