C Software Engineer – Linux/UNIX System Interface (Cyber Security)

A BlackBelt multinational team is looking for a Software Engineer with strong C development and Linux/UNIX system-interface expertise to contribute to critical authentication infrastructure projects, focusing on Kerberos-based systems and low-level security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain C-based applications in Linux/UNIX environments
  • Work with system-level interfaces (POSIX APIs, processes, file systems, sockets)
  • Develop and enhance Kerberos authentication systems and related tooling
  • Maintain and improve internal implementations of open-source technologies such as OpenSSH
  • Monitor performance, debug and optimize low-level system components
  • Build automation tools to streamline administrative and operational processes
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD and deployment automation pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners and stakeholders on authentication strategies

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in the C programming language
  • Deep understanding of Linux/UNIX system programming and system interfaces
  • Solid experience in network programming
  • Good knowledge of security concepts (authentication, authorization, cryptography)
  • Experience working in controlled enterprise environments
  • Practical experience with Perl and Python
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly
  • Strong teamwork skills in a distributed environment

Nice to have

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using tools such as Jira
  • Experience contributing to UNIX/Linux-based open-source projects
