Solutions Architect – Financial Services (Banking and Payments)

Responsibilities

• ▹Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems
• ▹Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting Databricks
• ▹Consult on big data architecture and build proof of concepts for strategic customer, data science, and machine learning projects
• ▹Validate integrations with cloud services and other third-party applications
• ▹Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers
• ▹Become an expert in Databricks-inspired open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Koalas) and promote them at meetups, conferences, and webinars
• ▹Travel to customers in the assigned region

Requirements

• ▹7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role
• ▹Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems
• ▹Comfortable programming in and debugging at least one of Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R
• ▹Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• ▹Familiarity with data engineering technologies (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
• ▹Familiarity with data warehousing (e.g. SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS)

Nice to have

• ▹Experience supporting Financial Services clients
• ▹Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research)
