Senior Backend / Integration Engineer (SAP & Enterprise Interfaces)

Stack

Responsibilities

• ▹Build REST endpoints for master data and lookups
• ▹Event and webhook delivery for transactional data (absences, time bookings, shift schedules, quotas, payroll-relevant status changes)
• ▹Implement the DB outbox pattern and worker logic, retry and dead-letter handling
• ▹Connect to EMQX as the internal event bus
• ▹Build versioned payload contracts and an auditable integration history
• ▹Implement flows programmatically on the SAP Integration Suite side, custom scripts, adapter logic, transformations
• ▹Keep PM↔SAP mappings testable and versionable
• ▹Build clean error channels, coordinate technically with customers' SAP teams

Requirements

• ▹Routine experience building REST APIs and event-based integrations in NodeJS/TypeScript (or a comparable stack)
• ▹Comfortable with PostgreSQL
• ▹Hands-on experience with the outbox pattern, idempotency, retry strategies, dead-letter queues, webhooks, MQTT/AMQP brokers (EMQX, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• ▹Familiarity with structured logging, correlation IDs, versioned contracts
• ▹Systems thinking about interfaces with clear contracts

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with the SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration / CPI), especially its programmatic extension points (Groovy scripting, custom adapters, custom flow logic)
• ▹Regulated customer environments, DMZ gateways, audit-proof logging
• ▹SaaS platform architectures, API design, event-driven architectures
