Principal Partner Solutions Architect (Public Sector - Fed)

As Principal Partner Solutions Architect aligned to Datadog's Channels & Alliances segment, you'll own the technical relationship with Datadog's most strategically important federal and public sector partners, acting as trusted advisor to CTO/CISO/VP-level stakeholders and architecting complex initiatives such as federal cloud migrations, zero-trust observability, and FedRAMP-aligned deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the senior technical relationship with a portfolio of high-value federal and public sector partners
  • Lead joint technical strategy sessions and executive business reviews with partner and Datadog leadership
  • Architect and lead technically complex partner initiatives: federal cloud migrations, zero-trust observability, FedRAMP-aligned deployments, DevSecOps transformations
  • Design and deliver partner enablement programs: workshops, certifications, technical deep-dives
  • Support partner technical initiatives such as end-customer demonstrations and proofs of value
  • Advocate for partners' technical concerns with Datadog's internal teams
  • Serve as the authoritative voice of federal partner needs with Product, Engineering, and Technical Services

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in a customer- or partner-facing technical role, operating at both executive and deep-technical levels
  • Proven track record building and sustaining C-suite relationships in federal or public sector environments
  • Deep familiarity with the federal technology landscape: procurement cycles, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, IL5)
  • Self-starter with exceptional business acumen, able to articulate value from server room to boardroom
  • Fluency in English required
  • Hands-on experience in five or more of: Observability (Datadog, Splunk, AppD, New Relic, Dynatrace); Public Cloud (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, GCP); Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift); Dev/Scripting (Python, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, Bash); Config Mgmt (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef); CI/CD & DevSecOps (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions)

Nice to have

  • Previous senior technical role at a federal systems integrator, defense contractor, or public sector-focused ISV
  • Previous experience using Datadog and/or other cloud monitoring tools (APM, Infrastructure, Logs, Synthetics, NPM)
  • Previous experience building or scaling partner technical programs
  • Previous experience with root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, debugging
