Responsibilities

• ▹Build reliable backend systems and design state-of-the-art APIs for new product features
• ▹Own central, complex components of the application
• ▹Drive and deliver the product roadmap, turning rough specs into features
• ▹Find elegant solutions to usability problems
• ▹Ship new features every week
• ▹Provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team
• ▹Work cross-functionally with product, design, customer success, support and sales
• ▹Implement a scalable, stable product that can handle current growth

Requirements

• ▹Experience designing and maintaining complex, large and growing systems
• ▹When reviewing designs or code, you think about what can go wrong: edge cases, failure modes, bottlenecks, migrations, releases, metrics
• ▹You love debugging and finding the root cause of production issues
• ▹You are proactive and fix or suggest improvements when something is broken
• ▹You follow best practices and always test the software you deliver
• ▹Experience with the stack (Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis) is not required
