Responsibilities

• ▹Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale, tying it to critical, business-impacting projects
• ▹Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle with product management, design and analytics to manage technical sustainability, risks and trade-offs
• ▹Act as a force-multiplier through defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes
• ▹Own team operations and availability: monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, testing and alerting for on-call support
• ▹Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards, advocated through writing and tech talks
• ▹Help develop team talent through feedback, guidance and leading by example

Requirements

• ▹8+ years designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• ▹Extensive track record building highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes
• ▹Experience in financial systems, ledgering, treasury or adjacent domains where data accuracy and reliability are critical
• ▹Experience delivering major features, system components, or deprecating functionality via defined technical and execution plans
• ▹Writes high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others
• ▹Comfortable moving from low-level language idioms to large-system architecture in ambiguous environments
• ▹Track record of mastering feedback gathering and iteration from engineering and cross-functional peers
• ▹Strong verbal and written communication for global engineering collaboration
