As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you'll shape Vanta's AI offerings by integrating LLMs into existing products and systems to help customers reach compliance and risk goals faster.

Responsibilities

▹Design and implement AI-powered features, integrating LLMs with Vanta's existing products and systems
▹Collaborate with product engineers across Vanta on AI-driven product adoption
▹Build evaluations, guardrails, and monitoring, reviewing customer usage to improve quality
▹Collaborate with AI Platform engineers on foundational AI systems and tooling
▹Make pragmatic tradeoffs across business priorities and technical sustainability
▹Mentor engineers and champion a collaborative engineering culture

Requirements

▹At least 7 years of industry experience as a software engineer
▹Shipped LLM-backed products; experience with prompting, RAG, and/or agent frameworks
▹Experience designing and scaling full-stack applications (backend, APIs, frontend)
▹Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js, or willingness to learn
▹Experience improving AI systems and building eval sets
▹Mentoring experience
▹Experience at rapidly scaling startups and large companies
