Responsibilities

• ▹Manage the engineering teams behind the Jobs and Business Insights domains within the SP Operations group
• ▹Work alongside Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to ensure tools help small businesses run efficiently
• ▹Live and breathe performance facilitation, helping the team master their craft while building extraordinary systems together
• ▹Be committed to the success of team members: goal setting, regular 1-on-1s, constructive feedback and coaching
• ▹Understand employees' career direction and empower their journey as a mentor and coach
• ▹Participate in recruiting events and the hiring process, implementing new processes to build a world-class team
• ▹Remove roadblocks and build guardrails for an environment where people can rapidly produce top-quality work
• ▹Collaborate with other stakeholders across Product and Business Technology teams to find the best solutions

Requirements

• ▹A track record of success as an established software engineer, plus leadership experience guiding a team delivering quality software
• ▹Strong full-stack technical background, including design and architectural experience
• ▹Deep knowledge and experience in either Ruby on Rails or ReactJS
• ▹A drive to succeed and deliver impactful projects on time
• ▹Ability to be agile, leading and teaching the team to adapt to change, thinking critically and creatively
• ▹Effective written and oral communication, transparency, and open dialogue
• ▹Leadership and mentorship, providing constructive feedback to direct reports
• ▹Open to candidates based in one of Jobber's hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with the development stack: ReactJS, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL
• ▹Experience building zero-to-one projects from initial discovery and design through implementation, delivery, and measurement
• ▹Familiarity or comfort with AI tools and AI-augmented development rhythms
