Responsibilities

• ▹Support building robust data models downstream of backend services, mostly in BigQuery
• ▹Focus on Data Warehouse optimisation, reducing complexity and cost
• ▹Help define and manage Data Warehouse best practices (payload design, modelling, testing)
• ▹Set standards and foster data practices across Monzo
• ▹Monitor and improve data quality with colleagues from other disciplines
• ▹Contribute to prioritising data governance issues

Requirements

• ▹Enjoy working with cross-functional, fast-moving teams
• ▹Strategic thinking about the Business Banking product and its data models
• ▹Strong passion for data modelling, ETL projects and Big Data
• ▹Experience with financial, transactional and operational data streams
• ▹SQL and data modelling as second nature
• ▹Proactive, continuous-improvement mindset

Nice to have

• ▹Experience in a finance function or accounting knowledge
• ▹Experience in a highly regulated environment
• ▹Exposure to Python, Go or similar
• ▹Experience with Airflow/Luigi
• ▹Experience with dbt or dataform
• ▹Agile ways of working (Kanban, Scrum)
