Platform Engineer (remote Europe)

Responsibilities

• ▹Build and own the platform that powers all of Spacelift — from CI/CD to observability to incident response
• ▹Improve the code delivery pipeline: reduce friction, tighten feedback loops, eliminate flakiness
• ▹Strengthen SLOs and observability posture — give every team better signals
• ▹Sharpen the on-call experience by improving alert quality, response speed, and postmortem hygiene
• ▹Optimize platform cost and scaling behavior across workloads and regions
• ▹Own developer experience internally, from local dev to debugging production
• ▹Take part in the on-call rotation — you build it, you run it

Requirements

• ▹Passion for building products and interest in the problem space (DevOps, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience)
• ▹4+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, with hands-on experience owning production systems
• ▹Experience working with Go
• ▹Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, or developer-facing tooling
• ▹On-call experience where you fixed root causes and leveled up the process, not just responded to pages
• ▹Experience with an IaC tool (OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation)
• ▹Excellent communication skills
• ▹Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
• ▹Strong product mindset and big-picture thinking
• ▹Focus on solving problems, not just completing tasks

Nice to have

• ▹Experience with Claude Code, Datadog
• ▹PostgreSQL/Aurora optimization experience
