Head of AI Enablement Engineering

Deepgram is hiring a build-first Head of AI Enablement Engineering to make AI adoption real across the company — personally building agents, workflows, and MCP integrations that set the standard for how the whole engineering org works with AI.

Stack

Responsibilities

  • ▹Own AI enablement engineering strategy and hands-on building across the company
  • ▹Evaluate, prototype, and select the AI tools, agents, models, and orchestration layers Deepgram adopts
  • ▹Build reference implementations: reusable agents/skills, MCP servers, paved-road workflows, prompt libraries
  • ▹Set and run the company-wide AI adoption strategy, metrics, and reporting cadence
  • ▹Partner with Platform, Security, and Data teams to embed safe-use guardrails into platforms
  • ▹Build and lead a distributed champions network, growing a small central team over time
  • ▹Partner with People Ops on AI-native onboarding

Requirements

  • ▹Strong engineering background with hands-on ability to build production-quality agents, tools, and automations
  • ▹Deep, current fluency with modern AI tooling: coding agents, LLM application patterns, prompting, retrieval, MCP/agent tooling
  • ▹Track record of driving technology adoption and changing how people work at scale
  • ▹Ability to operate across business and technical functions and influence without direct authority
  • ▹Strong product and platform instincts, treating enablement as a product
  • ▹Excellent communication — able to demo, document, evangelize, and report to executives

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience standing up an AI enablement, developer productivity, or engineering effectiveness function from scratch
  • ▹Background building internal platforms or developer-facing tooling that engineers actually adopted
  • ▹Experience leading a small team and/or a distributed champions/center-of-excellence model
  • ▹Familiarity with enterprise AI search/knowledge tooling (e.g., Glean, Notion AI) and agent orchestration frameworks
  • ▹Experience in a fast-moving, AI-native engineering organization
