Senior Data Engineer (Databricks)
DATAPAO, a Databricks-backed data engineering and AI consulting company, is looking for a well-versed (Senior) Data Engineer to work with EMEA and US customers on data engineering, ML/MLOps and cloud migration challenges. Projects are fast-paced, typically 2 to 4 months long, mostly delivered with Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS or Azure, and involve directly managing the customer relationship, individually or leading small delivery teams. At this seniority level, the role also includes mentoring junior engineers and contributing to hiring. The gross salary ranges from 1,200,000-1,700,000 HUF/month for a medior and 1,700,000-2,300,000 HUF/month for a senior level.
Responsibilities
- ▹Deliver some of the company's most complex projects across industries, individually or by leading small delivery teams
- ▹Work on fast-paced projects, typically 2 to 4 months long, mostly using Apache Spark/Databricks on AWS or Azure
- ▹Directly manage the customer relationship, alone or together with a Project Manager
- ▹Mentor more junior engineers and evaluate the quality of their work
- ▹Contribute to hiring best-in-class data engineers
Requirements
- ▹Consultant mindset and passion for customer experience — advising customers on best-in-class technical solutions rather than purely executing
- ▹Excellent communication and presentation skills, articulating complex technical concepts to all types of audiences
- ▹Solid, stack-agnostic software engineering foundations with significant Unix/Linux experience and a strong understanding of distributed systems
- ▹Experience in teams that designed and implemented data-intensive applications, with strong hands-on SQL and NoSQL experience
- ▹Fluent English and willingness to travel (mainly in the EU, normally short business trips) up to 15% of the time
Nice to have
- ▹Exposure to real-time data processing systems, Apache Spark and/or the Big Data ecosystem
- ▹Hands-on technical mentoring and/or people management experience
